If there was one person who could bring the best of global fashion to Greece, it was Mary Katrantzou. Greek herself, Katrantzou decided to show her latest breathtaking collection of couture gowns set against the ancient backdrop of the Temple of Poseidon. The collection, inspired by Greek history, could have been shown in London, Paris, Milan, or New York, but Cape Sounio (where no fashion show has ever taken place) proved thrilling beyond measure.
To add to this, Katrantzou dedicated the show to the Greek charity Elpida, which is celebrating 30 years of supporting children cancer patients. A selection of guests donated to the charity as part of their “fee” for attending the show; their contributions will aid in medical facilities and the ongoing fight against the disease.

It was a two-day affair—attendees including Bianca Brandolini, Eugenie Niarchos, Anna Coleman, and Sabine Getty flew in from all over to attend the Greek spectacle by the sea. Guests stayed at the Four Seasons and were spoiled with dinners overlooking Lake Vouliagmeni, trips into the ancient city, and the opportunity to savor the last of the late summer sun.
“I had tears of joy for the message of hope that we sent around the world through an image that highlights Greece’s historical past and cultural present”
